A New York City Housing Authority employee was arrested in Brooklyn Tuesday after allegedly crashing into three cars, dragging someone with her vehicle and trying to flee the scene of the collisions, according to police.
NYPD officials said Tanisha Simpson, 40, was driving a 2013 Nissan SUV just before 6 p.m. when she swiped an oncoming car near the intersection of Gates Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bed-Stuy.
When the driver of that car tried to catch her to get her information, she drove away – dragging the person several feet and hitting another car with a pregnant woman inside, police said.
After that, Simpson hit a third car that was empty, police said, and was arrested by New York City Sheriffs who happened to be near the scene. No one was seriously hurt, though the pregnant woman in the second car was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, officials said.
Simpson was charged with reckless endangerment, assault, leaving the scene of a collision with injuries and leaving the scene of a collision with property damage. Police said she didn’t make any statements at the scene.
Information for her lawyer was not immediately available.
